Modeled after the universe of the Moomins, the park brings to life the valley where the characters live and play. The car park is about a ten minute drive from the Sayama / Hidaka Interchange of the Ken-o expressway. From the car park you have to walk through Metsa Village to get to Moomin Valley Park. It is at least a ten minute walk to the entrance of Moomin Valley Park and a further five minutes or so to Kokemus.

Moominvalley Park is located approximately halfway between central Tokyo and Chichibu along the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. The closest stations to the park are Hanno Station and Higashi-Hanno Station. The latter is also served by the JR Hachiko Line. The theme park is situated on a tiny little island called Kailo in the west of Finland. Going by the name of Moominland, in Swedish, it is called Muumimaailma (a bit of a mouthful) and is currently the most well-equipped and most immersive Moomin-related location in the world.
